Plant Care
Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower-light conditions. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water Requirements: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid keeping the soil constantly soggy.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a well-draining, all-purpose houseplant potting mix. Adding perlite can improve drainage and help prevent the roots from staying too wet.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 60–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 50°F.
Pet Safety: Non-Toxic to cats and dogs.
Humidity: Average household humidity is usually suitable, although moderate humidity can encourage healthier growth and prevent dry leaf tips.
Growth Habit: A fast-growing, arching plant with long, narrow leaves. Mature Spider Plants produce long stems called runners that develop small plantlets, making them excellent for hanging baskets or elevated displays.
