Plant Care
Light Requirements: Bright, indirect light is best. They can tolerate low light, but growth will slow and leaves may lose variegation. Avoid strong direct afternoon sun, which can burn leaves.
Water Requirements: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry. Usually every 1-2 weeks indoors, depending on light and temperature. Avoid letting it sit in soggy soil, root rot is common.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer about once a month during spring and summer. Reduce or stop fertilizing in fall/winter when growth slows.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix. A mix mad for houseplants with added perlite or orchid bark helps prevent waterlogging. Pot must have drainage holes.
Temperature: Prefers 65-85 degrees. Protects from cold drafts, frost, and temperatures below about 50 degrees.
Pet Safety: Toxic
