Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can scorch the large leaves.
Water Requirements: Keep the soil lightly moist but not soggy. Allow the top 1–2 inches to dry slightly before watering again.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a chunky, well draining aroid mix containing potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 60°F.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity.
Growth Habit: A beautiful terrestrial Philodendron with large, velvety, heart-shaped leaves and prominent pale veins. Unlike many climbing Philodendrons, it grows along the soil surface from a creeping rhizome.
