Plant Care

Light Requirements: Bright, indirect light. ideally 6-8+ hours of sunlight per day. Indoors, place it near a very bright south or west-facing window.

Water Requirements: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top 1-2 inches begins to dry. Bananas are heavy drinkers, especially during active growth.

Fertilizer: Heavy feeders. Fertilize every 2-4 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced fertilizer. A fertilizer with extra potassium can encourage strong growth. Reduce feeding in winter.

Soil: Use a rich, well-draining potting mix. A combination of quality potting soil, compost/organic matter, and perlite or bark works well.

Temperature: Prefers 65-85 degrees. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 55 degrees.
