Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright light with several hours of direct or filtered sunlight each day. Brighter light helps maintain the plant’s vibrant colors and variegation.
Water Requirements: Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Water when the top 1–2 inches begin to dry and allow excess water to drain completely.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a rich, well-draining houseplant potting mix with good organic matter.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 50°F.
Pet Safety: Toxic if ingested. The sap can also irritate the skin.
Humidity: Appreciates moderate to higher humidity. Good humidity helps maintain healthy, colorful foliage.
Growth Habit: An upright, bushy tropical shrub with colorful, leathery foliage that can range from green and yellow to orange, pink, red, and bronze.
