Plant Care

Light Requirements: Provide bright light with several hours of direct or filtered sunlight each day. A bright window is ideal indoors. Gradually acclimate the plant to stronger direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.

Water Requirements: Allow the soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly once the soil is dry, then allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet or allowing water to collect in the hanging container.

Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer once a month during spring and summer. Reduce or stop fertilizing during fall and winter.

Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent soil mix. Good drainage is especially important for hanging plants to help prevent root rot.

Temperature: Most varieties prefer temperatures around 60–85°F. Protect from frost, freezing temperatures, and cold drafts.

Pet Safety: Pet safety varies by plant variety. Some cacti and succulents are non-toxic, while others may cause irritation or illness if ingested. Cactus spines can also cause injury. Keep away from pets unless the specific variety has been identified as pet-safe.

Humidity: Average household humidity is generally suitable. Avoid excessively humid conditions and provide good airflow around the plant.

Growth Habit: Hanging cactus and succulent plants typically develop trailing, cascading, or spreading growth, making them ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, and elevated displays.
