Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.
Water Requirements: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Do not allow the soil to dry out completely.
Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted balanced houseplant fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during active growth. Reduce feeding during the winter.
Soil: Use a rich, well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture and is slightly acidic.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 60–65°F.
Pet Safety: Non-Toxic to cats and dogs.
Humidity: Prefers high humidity. A humidifier, bathroom location, or pebble tray can help maintain humidity indoors.
Growth Habit: A compact, upright tropical shrub with glossy dark green leaves marked by distinctive white veins. Mature plants can produce showy yellow flower spikes.
