Plant Care
Light Requirements: Low to bright indirect light. Best is medium, filtered light. Avoid strong direct sunlight because it can scorch leaves. Variegated types usually need more light than dark green types.
Water Requirements: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feels dry. Keep soil slightly moist but never soggy. Reduce watering in winter.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during spring and summer. Do not fertilize much in winter.
Soil: Use a well draining potting mix. A mix for tropical houseplants with added perlite or orchid bark works well. Soil should never stay waterlogged.
Temperature: Prefers 65-80 degrees. Protect from cold drafts, air conditioners, and temperatures below about 55 degrees.
Pet Safety: Toxic
