Plant Care
Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates lower-light conditions. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water Requirements: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a well-draining, all-purpose houseplant potting mix. Adding perlite can improve drainage and help prevent overly wet roots.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 50°F.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Dracaenas contain compounds called saponins that can cause stomach upset and other symptoms.
Humidity: Average household humidity is generally suitable. Moderate humidity can help keep the foliage looking healthy, especially during dry winter months.
Growth Habit: A slow-growing, compact Dracaena with dense clusters of glossy, dark green leaves. Its upright, space-saving shape makes it well suited for desks, shelves, offices, and smaller rooms.
