Plant Care

Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sunlight.

Water Requirements: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.

Soil: Use a well-draining, peat- or coco-based houseplant mix with perlite for added drainage.

Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 50°F.

Pet Safety: Non-Toxic to cats and dogs.

Humidity: Appreciates moderate humidity but generally adapts well to average household conditions.

Growth Habit: An upright tropical tree with glossy, palmate leaves and a distinctive braided trunk. With proper care, new growth emerges from the top of the canes.
