Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.
Water Requirements: Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, allowing the top layer to dry slightly before watering. Avoid overwatering and avoid keeping water on the leaves.
Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted balanced houseplant fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during active growth in spring and summer.
Soil: Use a light, airy, moisture-retentive but well-draining houseplant mix.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 60–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
Humidity: Prefers high humidity, ideally around 50% or higher. Good airflow is important to help prevent fungal problems.
Growth Habit: A compact, mounding or spreading plant grown primarily for its dramatic, colorful foliage.
