Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light with a few hours of gentle direct morning sunlight if possible. Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water Requirements: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, then allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant or succulent fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce or stop fertilizing during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a light, fast-draining soil mix. A well-draining houseplant or succulent mix amended with orchid bark and perlite works well.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F.
Pet Safety: Non-Toxic to cats and dogs.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average household conditions. Good airflow is important, especially in humid environments.
Growth Habit: A slow-growing tropical vine with thick, waxy, heart-shaped leaves. Mature plants can develop long trailing vines and clusters of small, star-shaped flowers.
Important: A single-leaf Hoya Heart may remain a single leaf for an extended period. For the plant to produce new vines and leaves, it needs an active growth point or node, not just the leaf itself.
