Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light. Several hours of gentle morning sunlight can be beneficial, but protect the leaves from harsh afternoon sun.
Water Requirements: Allow the top 2–3 inches of soil to dry slightly before watering. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a rich, well draining houseplant potting mix with good airflow around the roots.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. The milky sap can also irritate skin.
Humidity: Prefers moderate humidity and benefits from protection from very dry indoor air.
Growth Habit: An upright to branching indoor tree with large, glossy, fiddle shaped leaves. Bush forms are trained to maintain multiple branches and a fuller silhouette.
