Plant Care
Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium light. Avoid intense direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Water Requirements: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a well-draining houseplant potting mix. Adding perlite can improve drainage and help prevent overly wet roots.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 50°F.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
Humidity: Average household humidity is suitable. Moderate humidity can help prevent dry or brown leaf tips.
Growth Habit: An upright, woody-stemmed plant with long, narrow leaves. Its braided or woven canes create an attractive architectural shape for larger indoor spaces.
