Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect light. Brighter filtered light helps maintain the yellow and green variegation. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sunlight.
Water Requirements: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely. Avoid soggy soil.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a well-draining houseplant potting mix. A mix amended with perlite or coarse bark provides good airflow around the roots.
Temperature: Prefers temperatures around 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 50°F.
Pet Safety: Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
Humidity: Average household humidity is suitable, although moderate humidity can help prevent brown leaf tips.
Growth Habit: A slow- to moderate-growing, upright plant with woody stems and narrow, arching leaves edged in bright yellow or cream.
