Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, indirect or filtered light. A few hours of gentle direct sunlight can help maintain vibrant coloration, but harsh summer sun may scorch the leaves.
Water Requirements: Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry. Keep the soil evenly moist without allowing it to remain waterlogged.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
Soil: Use a light, well draining, acidic houseplant mix.
Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures around 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 55°F.
Pet Safety: Toxic if ingested. The sap can also irritate the skin and eyes.
Humidity: Prefers high humidity. Dry air can contribute to leaf drop.
Growth Habit: An upright, bushy tropical shrub with dramatic, multicolored foliage.
