Plant Care
Light Requirements: Provide bright, filtered or indirect light. Coffee plants appreciate plenty of light but can scorch in intense direct sunlight.
Water Requirements: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the surface begins to dry and allow excess water to drain completely.
Fertilizer: Feed during the growing season with a balanced fertilizer according to product directions. Regular feeding supports healthy foliage and growth.
Soil: Use a rich, organically amended, well-draining potting mix. Slightly acidic soil is ideal.
Temperature: Prefers daytime temperatures around 70–80°F and nighttime temperatures around 60–65°F. Protect from temperatures below about 55°F.
Pet Safety: Keep away from pets. Coffee plants produce caffeine-containing seeds, and ingestion of plant material should be avoided.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity and benefits from protection from dry indoor air.
Growth Habit: An upright, evergreen shrub with glossy dark green leaves. Mature plants can produce fragrant white flowers followed by red coffee cherries.
